Sentences can be in the active voice (e.g., โHe made the breakfastโ) or the passive voice (e.g., โThe breakfast was made by himโ).
In the active voice, the grammatical subject of the sentence is the โdoerโ of the action described by the verb (โHe madeโฆโ), but in the passive voice, the subject is the โrecipientโ of this action (โThe breakfast was madeโฆโ).

Sentences can be in the passive voice (e.g., โThe window was cleanedโ) or the active voice (e.g., โHe cleaned the windowโ). In the active voice, the โdoerโ of the action described by the verb is the grammatical subject of the sentence (โHe cleanedโฆโ), but in the passive voice, the subject is the โrecipientโ of this action (โThe window was cleanedโฆโ).
Choosing the passive voice allows us to make the sentence or clause โaboutโ the recipient rather than the doer (or โagentโ).
You construct the passive by using a form of the auxiliary verbbe (e.g., โwasโ) and the past participle of the main verb (e.g., โcleanedโ). If you want to mention the agent in the passive voice, it comes after the prepositionby (e.g., โ…was cleaned by himโ).

A complex sentence consists of an independent clause (e.g., โI will love youโ) and one or more dependent clauses (e.g., โuntil the end of timeโ).
